Abstract
Approach of power system islanding by the hierarchical clustering has been developed. It provides a recommendation for practical use and has close to linear computational complexity. For the system decomposition, we have applied the Optimal Circuit Reduction method. The New England 39 Bus power system is analyzed by the proposed methodology.
