Abstract

Intrinsic quantum fluctuations play an important role in a low temperature, high mobility regime. Coherently coupled nano-structures are likely to become increasingly important. We propose a new approach to quantum noise in resonant tunnelling systems with coherent coupling between the bound states of adjacent wells. The results go beyond the traditional population master equation approach and show new features caused by the coherent coupling.
