Abstract
The following work deals with the study of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Caracas and its repercussions on the formation of the State and the Venezuelan nation during the period of activity in which it developed: from 1829 to 1839. The Review Documentary relies mainly on the content of the works: MEMORIES AND STUDIES of the Economic Society of Friends of Country, published by the Central Bank of Venezuela in 1958. These are approached through historical-political analysis. It begins with the study of the antecedents, purposes, foundational documents, main tasks of the nineteenth century institution and its contributions mainly to the Venezuelan agricultural economy. Subsequently, a general analysis of the role played by the institution as agent of historical-political change in Venezuela is carried out; And in this last aspect, questions are raised about the relationship between the political and economic ideas that inspired the founding members of “La Sociedad” and the Venezuelan political imaginary in the historical context of another major foundation: The Republic of 1830. Finally, An approximation is made to the study of some constitutive elements of the Venezuelan political system at the time of the incipient formation of the Venezuelan State and of the Economic Society of Friends of Country of Caracas.
