In this paper, the sensitivity based methods like, DC power transfer distribution factor (DCPTDF) as well as AC power transfer distribution factor (ACPTDF) are used for IEEE-6 bys system simulation. The optimal location of TCSC (Thyristor control series capacitor) has found through performance index of each line. Results of ATC are obtained in normal operating condition as well as contingency conditions without TCSC and with TCSC.
