Abstract

Writing Assignment Description and Interpretation(in class portion): Biologists must often carefully observe patterns in nature and then use their observations to formulate and test hypotheses about causal mechanisms. Your first assignment is to watch a section of film and take careful notes on as many things as you can (don't worry, it's a pretty short feature). At the end of the film, take a few moments to write down any additional notes, and at the bottom of the page formulate a hypothesis regarding what you observed the insects in the film doing.(take home portion) Design an experiment to test your hypothesis.
