Abstract

In this paper, a focal array for multibeam reflector (or lens) antenna is presented. It is a multiple feed per beam array based on disc-on-rod elements. The array produces overlapping 7-element clusters that form overlapping beams of a reflector antenna. Each cluster is composed of one central and six peripheral elements. The cluster is excited through the waveguide input of the central element, while six surrounding elements don't have inputs and are excited due to mutual coupling between disc-on-rod elements. Electrical performances of Ka-band array are reported.
