Abstract

The thermal and tribological properties of an uncoated AISIM3 HSS cutting insert and one coated with multilayer are investigated in this work. On tool steel, turning experiments were performed at three cutting speeds of 56, 88, and 112m/min, three feed of 0.065,0.165, and 0.265 mm/rev, and three cutting depths (0.2, 0.5 and 0.7 mm).
