Abstract

A coil antenna-based magnetic induction (MI) scheme for subsea wireless communications is introduced. Magnetic induction (MI) is considered to be a good candidate to overcome the challenges posed by the harsh underwater environment. The designed MI communication system is implemented in hardware. Both numerical simulations and lab experiments are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the MI antenna.
