Research on the Influence of Media use on the Risk Perception of the Public and Experts

Abstract

This paper makes an empirical study on the relationship between media use and risk perception from the perspective of risk communication. Taking the public and experts in flood-prone areas in Hubei Province as the research object, it adopts stratified sampling method to carry out the research. On the basis of previous studies, a variable model is constructed to analyze the data. The conclusion shows that risk communication should face up to the cognitive differences between the public and experts, promote the spread of network technology in rural areas, integrate the power of interpersonal communication in rural areas, and guide multi-agent to cope with flood risk.
