Two models of optical limiting by ps- and ns-laser pulses in CdSe/ZnS quantum dots

Abstract

Two models of optical limitation (OL) for nanosecond and picosecond laser action on colloidal solutions of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are considered by resonant excitation. We discuss the results of solutions of kinetic balance equations for 10 ns and 20 ps laser pulses and different fundamental mechanisms for each case of optical limiting effect.
