The antenna comprises a circular patch which is electromagnetically coupled with an annular ring patch antenna. The TM11modes of both annular ring and circular patch radiators are broadside directed whereas the TM21 modes of both have a radiation parallel to the human body. Wideband characteristic over the higher band has been achieved by tuning the TM21 modes of both the circular patch and annular ring while proper tuning of the fundamental modes of the two counterparts resulted into realization of lower wide band.
