Abstract
In this contribution the analytical two-dimensional approximate model of the MR volume coil with the shield having an arbitrary surface impedance is proposed. Boundary problem taking into account homogeneous sinusoidal current distribution, arbitrary surface impedance of the shield and homogeneous material properties of biological tissues is solved. As an example, the electric and magnetic fields of the 7 Tesla preclinical small-animal coil in the presence of zero and high impedance shields are calculated.
