Abstract

We have already developed a low-cost type microwave receiving system using a vertical-cavity surfaceemitting laser. Our developed system consists of 850 nm verticalcavity surface-emitting laser, a photo diode with trans-impedance amplifier and OM3 multi-mode optical fiber. Further, the system can be measure the microwave signal up to 18 GHz with 40 dB dynamic range and less than 0.22 dB standard deviation without temperature control and pre-amplifier.
