Abstract

The results of SNR theoretical investigations at the output of receiving antenna subarray of a new GURT radio telescope, which is intended to operate within 10-80 MHz range, are presented. The paper describes a subarray SNR calculations technique based on representation of receiving system by cascade connection of noisy multiport networks, and electromagnetic approach to calculation of parameters of antenna elements in the subarray. The results of numerical calculations of subarray SNR as functions of frequency and its beam direction are given.
