Abstract

This paper presents a method for the tuning of a power system stabilizer (PSS) for damping inter-area low-frequency oscillations based on wide area phasor measurements and robust controller design with the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. The dynamics of a power system is identified as an approximate model based on voltage phasors obtained by the wide area measurement system (WAMS).
