Abstract
The resistive wall amplifier (RWA) has been shown to be theoretically capable of very high gains. However, properties of the materials necessary to support the practical resistive medium significantly reduce the effective gain of the device. This work investigates a metamaterial-enhanced RWA. We demonstrate theoretically that the use of metamaterials in RWAs enables very high, near-theoretical gains.
