Review of the Pathology, Diagnosis and Treatment for Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the leading cause of dementia--a continuous decline in thinking, behavioral and social skills--worldwide in the late ages, is becoming increasingly serious due to the fact that the global population is aging. However it is not a normal part of aging. It is now threatening public health systems. Countless families are suffering from older members' cognitive decline. Memory loss is typical of the symptoms. Although there are some medications that relieve the symptoms for AD patients, further research on a definitive cure of this disease is still in urgent necessity. This review is talking about updates on AD's pathology, diagnosis and treatment.
