The infrared channel is characterized by measuring the amplitude and phase response of its transfer function. The measurements have been performed in rooms with different shapes and physical properties. In each position, the receiver is rotated in steps of 5/spl deg/ and the channel transfer function is recorded in each step. Also, in each position, this set of results is collected for both diffuse and line-of-sight (LOS) configurations. Measurements are done in 9 rooms and a total of more than 5000 frequency responses have been collected.
