Abstract

Ultrasonic treatment of suspensions containing nanoparticles agglomerates can result in both fragmentation and consolidation of the agglomerates. It has been established with experiment that during prolonged ultrasonic impact (intensity of 4-8W/cm2) on oil suspensions of carbon of detonation synthesis there are variations in particle size (consolidation, fragmentation, again significant enlargement). The paper proposes possible mechanisms and provides a mathematical model to describe these processes.
