Abstract
This paper proposes the inspection and identification of individual appliances using analysis of their real and reactive power. This is achieved using an electric meter connected to the circuit that supplies each appliance, without intrusion. The measurement sends the values of voltage-current for each appliance, which are then used to calculate the instantaneous power imported, including real and reactive power, and power factor. After that, experimental identification and inspection of the condition of each electrical appliance is conducted by turning on the appliance to work simultaneously with measurement of the electrical circuit that supplies all the appliances in aggregate. The experimental results were conducted on electrical appliances in residential and showed that the instantaneous power waveform of each device has feature differences, while the real and reactive power, and power factor have only slight differences.
