Abstract

Abstract:This article examines how social interest and the Crucial Cs model have assessment and treatment implications in group drumming settings. The article also presents a study that examined the immediate effects of a single 45-minute Adlerian-based group-drumming session on the affective states and social interest among university students. The study included participants (N = 100) from undergraduate and graduate programs from a university in the southeastern United States. General results support the use of an Adlerian group-drumming protocol to improve mood among university students. Results also suggest further inquiry into this protocol as a tool to increase social interest.
