São Paulo Carinhosa: formação intersetorial dos Agentes Comunitários de Saúde

Abstract

This article analyzes how intersectoriality can be promoted by investing in the education of the actors who implement the policies, considering that the intersectoral education of these actors is essential to promote horizontal coordination processes in public policies. For this purpose, the study analyzes the case of the intersectoral formation of the Health Communitarian Agents (HCA), understanding their performance in the implementation of an intersectoral policy the São Paulo Carinhosa and observing the repercussions of the course offered to qualify home visits, focusing on the expansion of family competences for the early childhood care. This research, with an exploratory methodology and a qualitative approach, carried out semi-structured interviews with 66 HCA participating in 11 UBS from all the Regional Health Coordinations in São Paulo. The analysis of the results indicates that the formations changed the way professionals interpret and judge the cases they monitor and expanded the intersectoriality in their practices.
