Abstract

In this paper, we investigate a normal form based nonlinear excitation system. It is implemented on a fourth order model of synchronous generator in a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) power system. In contrast with conventional voltage regulators, it is observed that the rotor and voltage profiles are decoupled. Interestingly, propose controller satisfies the criteria of an Ideal voltage regulator.
