Abstract

An efficient algorithm based on the macro block-characteristic basis function (MB-CBF) method and the interpolation technique is proposed to analyze the wideband electromagnetic characteristics of the large-scale finite periodic arrays with planar unit cells. The MB-CBF method can greatly reduce the number of unknowns. It is the frequency-domain algorithm. When used for the frequency sweep, the impedance matrix needs to be calculated repeatedly at each frequency, which is very time consuming. To accelerate generation of impedance matrices, the interpolation technique is adopted. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is accurate and efficient.
