Abstract
Relay protection is an important part to maintain the safe operation of the power system, so it will become the target of attackers. With the development of cyber-physical system (CPS), researchers are mainly based on the network communication layer to study the attack modes that make relay protection devices fail and the corresponding defense detection. In this paper, from the perspective of peripheral power electronic equipment, it is found that the complex power electronics attack (PE-attack) can be implemented by using the powerful control function of power electronic devices, and indirect attack on relay protection can be realized, thus seriously threatening its safe operation. Taking the distributed photovoltaic power generation system as an example, it is verified that this indirect attack can really have a destructive impact on the power system. In order to deal with PE-attacks, this paper proposes an attack detection method based on directed acyclic graph SVMs (DAG-SVMs), with the time series of three-phase current data as feature vectors, PE-attacks can be detected quickly and effectively through simulation experiments.
