Abstract
In this article, a corrugated square waveguide circular polarizer operating from 7 GHz to 10 GHz for gyrotron traveling wave tube application system is proposed. In order to obtain a flat phase difference between two orthogonal linear polarizations, an oversized quasi-square waveguide with corrugations is used. By optimizing the size of the corrugation and the dimension of the waveguide, the different effects on two linear polarizations are obtained, which means the circular polarized wave can be achieved in a broadband. The results show that in the frequency range from 7 GHz to 10 GHz, the relative bandwidth is about 35.3%. The phase difference is about $90\pm 2$ degree.
