Abstract
LTE for Railway (LTE-R) system will be deployed at 460MHz frequency band to meet the user requirements of intelligent railways. To evaluate the coverage quality of LTE-R, a multi-carrier system operating over frequency selective channels, we investigate channel frequency domain correlation properties in a high-speed railway scenario at 460MHz. Based on the measurements, the received power of each subcarrier are modeled as Nakagami-m channel model which characterizes the small-scale fading distribution over time domain. Based on the modeling results, the correlation coefficients between different frequency bands are analyzed to explore statistical characteristic of different sub-carriers. Then the minimum required number of different sub-carriers for coverage quality evaluation and effective Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) estimation of LTE-R system are suggested based on the analysis results.
