New Tendencies in the Validation of Non-formal and Informal Learning with Some Examples of Validation in the ICT Sector

Abstract

The paper explores new tendencies in the validation of non-formal and informal learning starting with the new trends in the life-long learning. Microlearning, private company certifications versa diploma, social learning, virtual classrooms, artificial intelligence and other nowadays phenomena in the learning are mentioned. Validation trends in VET providers and in private companies sector is presented. Structuring the learning content in assessable units, flexible paths, accumulation of results principles and other trends in the certification procedures are explored. Extended model for validation of non-formal and informal learning showing different aspects of the validation process is presented. The validation trends of non-formal and informal learning are illustrated with some examples from the ICT sector.
