Abstract
The paper considers two wideband signal design approaches, namely the tabu search and the genetic algorithm, by the criteria of minimizing the sidelobe levels that is essential in the performance of radar, positioning and other radio electronic systems. Both algorithms are compared in the achieved minimum sidelobe levels as well as calculation time required.
