Funeral Services

Abstract

Students in the Funeral Services program are given a broad understanding of all phases of funeral home operations as well as the public health responsibilities of the funeral director and embalmer. The W.L. Philbrick School of Funeral Service Education at Miami Dade College is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE), 3414 Ashland Avenue, Suite G, St. Joseph, MO. 64506, Phone: 816-233-3747 www.abfse.org. Effective 2002-1, all students planning graduation must take the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, Inc. Examination during their final semester. The Department of Funeral Service Education requires the student to pass both sections of the examination with a grade of 75 or higher as a requirement for graduation.
