Abstract

This paper deals with the field-oriented control of a doubly fed induction generator with a variable structure control based on the sliding mode control (SMC) and backstepping control (BSC). In this paper a comparative study of the sliding mode and backstepping control is presented in order to control the stator active and reactive powers of the doubly fed induction generator. The simulation results using Matlab/Simulink environment shows the performances of each controller for reference tracking and robustness against machine parameters variations.
