Abstract

This paper presents the application of backstepping based sliding mode control (B-SMC) to regulate glucose in type-1 diabetic patient. Therefore, a type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) model is considered. MATLAB-2018 is considered to implement and simulate the systems. A comparison of result of B-SMC for T1DM model is done with existing ones. To check the effectiveness of the designed controller, the real time simulator (OPAL-RT) is used. The real time simulation result shows better in real time.
