To improve the signal strength of the target and hence detection, clutter reduction technique is proposed. It is observed that after application of clutter reduction technique, the microwave radar system can detect human life sign. The performance of Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based clutter reduction technique is compared with moving average clutter reduction technique. Abstract

Detection of human being life signs from behind the wall is addressed in this paper using step frequency continuous wave (SFCW) based radar system. The major problem in life sign detection is the reflection due to wall which amounts for substantial loss of energy. The remaining energy signal pass through wall and propagated towards human being as target. Finally the weak reflected signal from target reach to the receiving antenna after passing through wall again.
