The language system is mainly for ad-hoc query application. One of the features of the language system is to provide RPC (remote procedure call) based programming interface for method call and query processing. Client-sever model is used for remote database accesses. The database toolkit is also implemented using RPC interface and used to customize several levels of DBMS functions. Abstract
A discussion is given on the implementation of a database query language subsystem and its programming interface with the multimedia database system.
