Abstract
Antenna's that has a capability to operate in the single band (3.36GHz), dual band (3.88GHz and 9.99GHz) and triple band (3.32GHz, 4.69GHz and 9.70GHz) of frequencies in the ultra wide band range is presented. The proposed antenna for single band is composed of a rectangular patch and bottom edges of patch made as tapered structure for better radiation. The same antenna has been modified for dual and triple bands of operation by inserting the square slot in the middle of the tapered patch and placing the rectangular radiator strip on top of the tapered radiator patch. A CPW feeding line and defective ground structure (DGS) are the key features of this antenna. A novelty of this designed antenna is able to propagate multichannel in the UWB range. The designed antennas are constructed on the substrate of FR4 with a planar size of 30mm χ 41mm with a thickness of 1.6mm. The defective ground structure is introduced to improve radiating performance of the antennas at these frequencies. The CST Microwave Studio simulation software is used to obtain the parameters of the proposed antennas.
