Abstract

A DCS (distributed control system) optimization approach introducing advanced algorithm realized in MATLAB into the control configuration was proposed. UDP and Modbus/TCP protocol communication program was written to establish two way data communication between the EDPF-NT plus DCS and MATLAB. Two timer objects in MATLAB were used to ensure real-time transmission of the data. Independence and reliability was guaranteed by using communication interface offered by DCS. An applying example of drum level fuzzy-PID control was given to prove the feasibility of this approach.
