Abstract

A built-in solar water heater was tested both experimentally and theoretically under three different operation modes namely; no flow, continuous flow and intermittent flow. It was found that the average efficiency (η) of the system is of maximum value under the continuous flow condition, while it has a maximum hourly efficiency under the intermittent flow condition.
