Abstract

In future power system, microgrids plays an emerging integral feature to improve the quality of electric power and system efficiency. The main objective of this paper is to give a brief description about the various controllers of electric power system for microgrid applications. Controller is used to control the operation of the equipment in connection to the power line. In distribution system microgrid has the capability to solve the major problems arising to it. For a successful operation of microgrid, a proper control strategy must be required. This analysis is extended to understand the design of the controllers. This paper also includes the advantages and disadvantages of the controllers. Various optimization software tools for microgrid are also discussed.
