Abstract
We propose a guided online visit service as a novel network robot service by introducing a guide to an online visit service. The proposed service enables an user visit a remote place by teleoperation of a robot while the guide assists and supports the user. In order to achieve an effective assistance, we adopted a web-base control interface and designed a teleoperation system to share the robot control between the user and the guide. The system has a function that the user and the guide can monitor operations each other and has another function to coordinate transmitted operations to prevent multiple commands are sent to the robot in a instant time. We implemented a plottype of the service with the designed teleoperation system based on Robot Service Network Protocol (RSNP). In addition we carried out an experiment in a promotion event of a university in Hakodate, Japan as a feasibility study to evaluate the acceptability of the implemented service.
