Experimental investigation of the above-threshold linewidth broadening factor of a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser

Abstract

The linewidth broadening factor (α) of a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser is investigated above threshold with two different methods. The α is found strongly dependent on the operating conditions with a maximum value of 3.5.
