Considering conventional radar with frequency agile, this paper proposes a new signal design method for automotive radar that uses combination from a fixed number of constant frequency and triangular frequency modulation waveform, and the constant frequency and triangle wave slope random change. This way can most suppress mutual interference between automotive radar. This paper analyzes the waveform random combination method and the principle of waveform design. Abstract

With the increasing amount of car equipped with collision avoidance radar, the mutual interference is becoming a problem when the cars run in the roads. The mutual interference cancellation techniques are getting more and more important to preserve the reliability of the automotive radar.
