Abstract

In recent years, the refining furnace has been used more and more widely in the steel industry due to the increasingly high requirements for steel quality. However, the power quality problems caused by its operation will not only affect the product quality, but also pollute the power grid This paper analyzes the harmonic current, voltage fluctuation, voltage flicker, low power factor and other power quality problems caused by the operation of the ladle refining furnace to the power grid, proposes a hybrid compensation scheme of SVG+FC, designs and calculates the compensation capacity of SVG and FC, and finally verifies the effectiveness of the hybrid compensation in the practical application in the steel plant.
