The injury had caused a retropharyngeal hematoma, emphysema of the neck along with internal jugular vein thrombosis and with air in the lumen of the vein. Abstract
Injuries to the head and neck region are less common than genitourinary, abdominal, inguinal region but are more severe and more likely to cause death.1 A 22-year-old patient presented with dysphagia and swelling in left lower part of the neck secondary to bull gore injury. The injury had caused a retropharyngeal hematoma, emphysema of the neck along with internal jugular vein thrombosis and with air in the lumen of the vein. Pulmonary embolism resulted in sudden death of the patient.
