This quantitative study involved 510 students from four polytechnics as respondents. Study data were obtained through a questionnaire adapted from the Metacognitive Awareness Instrument (MAI). Student achievement is measured through the results of their Average Gathering of Points (HPNM) which is converted to a five-point scale. Study data were analyzed using SPSS software version 21. Descriptive analysis (mean and standard deviation) and inferential analysis of parametric statistical tests (Pearson correlation and multiple regression) were performed to answer the research questions and hypotheses. The findings of the study shows that there is a significant relationship and influence between metacognitive awareness variables on the achievement of polytechnic students in Business Mathematics. Suggestions for improvement and further study have been given as a continuation of this study. Metacognitive awareness can improve student achievement. Abstract

This survey study aims to identify the relationship and influence of metacognitive awareness variables on academic achievement among polytechnic students on mathematics subjects.
