Abstract
Poverty is a problem that becomes an obstacle in general in achieving community welfare. Education and unemployment are indicated to have a central role in this issue. The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of education and unemployment on poverty in the North-North Region. Panel data regression method for the period 2011-2020 in 4 districts using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency. The results of the analysis found that education using the indicators of the average length of school and the open unemployment rate had a simultaneous effect on poverty. Partially, the average length of schooling has a significant negative effect on poverty which indicates that every increase in the average length of schooling can reduce the poverty rate. In addition, the open unemployment rate has a significant positive effect on poverty, which means that any increase in the unemployment rate can increase the poverty rate.
