Abstract

Aiming at the problems of light load or overload in the operation of existing power transformers, this paper proposes to configure lithium battery packs on the secondary side of power transformers through energy storage power conversion system (PCS). In order to avoid light load and overload problems caused by the peak/trough of power load, and to improve the power factor and operation efficiency of power transformers, the four-quadrant operation characteristics of energy storage PCS are utilized to realize active/reactive power compensation of power transformer.
