Abstract

Summary. — Lens' roots IAA oxidase activity has been studied in presence of a few phenolic effectors. The results from the literature that monophenolic compounds are auxin-oxidasic activators while o-diphenolic derivatives act as inhibitors have been confirmed. A close relationship between the positive or negative action of the phenolic effectors and their antagonism or synergism with the auxin activity is suggested and discussed. The IAA-oxidasic inhibitors have been found able to form complexes with IAA. Monophenolic compounds do not form complexes.
