GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS AND MEASURES AIMED AT PREVENTING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN IN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

In Azerbaijan, the most important legislative framework aimed at the support and protection of children’s rights has been created (Declaration of Children’s Rights, Convention on Children’s Rights, Activity Plan for the Implementation of the Strategy for Children 2020-2025, Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Social Protection of Children, Orphans and Children, those left without parental care”, Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the prevention of domestic violence”). Nevertheless, as in many countries of the world, taking into account social and legal stereotypes, the problem of child violence remains quite relevant. It is for this reason that it is necessary to take certain measures at the local level – it is especially important to increase the role of social workers in the field under consideration, as well as to increase the number of state assistance centers.
