This paper mainly presents the research on the composite energy storage system in a wind and PV hybrid micro-grid. The energy storage system is composed of a battery and a super-capacitor, which combines advantages of both sides. The battery is supposed to compensate the low-frequency part of the micro-grid net load power and the super-capacitor for the high frequency part. A micro-grid model including a wind turbine, a PV cell, loads and composite energy storage system is built with the simulation tool DIgSILENT/PowerFactory and related simulation is carried out. Abstract
Energy storage system is necessary to maintain steady operation of the micro-grid and decrease its influence on the distribution grid. This paper mainly presents the research on the composite energy storage system in a wind and PV hybrid micro-grid.
