Abstract
A novel way in the teaching of engineering courses is presented. It focuses on using specific engineering examples and problems that are taught in other courses within the same semester of the curriculum, as application areas in the course. This technique does not only allow students to apply what they learn various engineering courses within the term, but it gives them a point of reference in understanding fundamental engineering principles all round. Using engineering courses material archives and text books, numerous examples and application problems were reviewed and compiled for five concurrent standard engineering courses of the same curriculum. From this study and analysis, it was evident that several application areas from concurrent courses could be cited and referenced in the teaching of engineering students. Consequently, the student learning experience would be more rewarding since it includes a set of examples and problems that can be solved during lectures and focused on other engineering courses.
